Wow - this is the way to defeat ignorance - use some actual knowledge!
izs:
By now, if you haven’t heard the outrage at the TSA’s “enhanced” pat-down procedures, then you don’t use the internet, and you’re not reading this blog.
They grope children. They touch your junk. The procedures are ludicrously ineffective and harmful from a security point of view. And the…

– This little poem was on a card my wife bought me to inspire me some years ago. I copied out the words and then promptly lost the card! I wonder if it really inspired me after all?

Yesterday I gave my eight year old son the Subutteo set which my Grandmother gave to me on my seventh birthday. I thought he would laugh at it, but he loved it and has played with it all weekend long. Isn’t it strange that no matter how much changes, nothing really changes?

OMG! why have I wasted a day?
I think I’ve purchased my last Microsoft product.
I’ve spent the day attempting to get my new Vista laptop to connect to my WM6.1 ‘phone. It won’t. And then when I discovered that Outlook 2007 won’t send email and apparently I have to pay Microsoft to provide support on this cr&p I bought from them, I made a decision. NO MORE!
From now on it’s open...

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Myth: we have to save the earth. Frankly, the earth doesn’t need to be saved. Nature doesn’t give a hoot if human beings are here or not. The planet has survived cataclysmic and catastrophic changes for millions upon millions of years. Over that time, it is widely believed, 99 percent of all species have come and gone while the planet has remained. Saving the...

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant
At my company (www.dexterisys.com) we often run ‘Commitment days’. These are days when we agree to support each other in getting things done by all dialing into conference line and updating each other on what we’ve achieved in the last hour and what we want to achieve in the next hour. There’s no intention to solve any problems in these calls, and no judgment on whether...

How to handle dead horses
The tribal wisdom of the North Dakota Indians, passed down from generation to generation, says that when you discover you are riding a dead horse the best strategy is to dismount. However, customers often attempt a whole range of far more advanced strategies, such as to:
1. Change riders.
2. Buy a stronger whip.
3. Do nothing: “This is the way we have always ridden...
